Using a Netgear 108 Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter in an XPS 400 desktop

I have an XPS 400 that I love.  I have been connecting to the internet through my walljack (cable internet service) and have had no problem.  I just move the computer to the office where we only have 1 internet connection, so I bought a Netgear 108 Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter card for the PC.  We currently have a wireless network in the house and all the laptops use the Netgear 108 card so I figured this would be the best bet for the PC.
Problem is when I install (and I have done so about 5 times since last night)... sometimes it will "recognize new hardware" and sometimes not.  Either way... it always connects (99 - 100% signal) to my wireless network.... I just can't get to the internet.  I keep getting the message "server not found".  So at first I thought it was Comcast... so I turned on the laptop.. wireless... double clicked my internet explorer.....boom.... came up with no problems.  Went to a couple of different sites to test..... no problems.  So I go back to my PC... still connected at 100% to the home wireless network... but still SERVER NOT FOUND!!!   UUUGGGGHHHH.

Can anyone tell me if there are compatibility issues with the XPS 400 and the Netgear 108 Wireless PCI Adaptor card?  I called Dell before going to the store to buy it and this is the one that they said would work in my machine.  HELP!!!  I don't want to have to move my computer back to the old location again just to get internet service!!!
