Very Slow Loading of Yahoo Mail Pages

Question

I have Windows XP Media Edition on my Inspirion 6000 Notebook. Yesterday there was an automatic windows security update. Since then I've noticed a drastic slowdown in loading of Yahoo Mail webpages on my IE browser. Rest of the sites and downloads seem to be okay. Only the Yahoo Mail webpages are slow in loading. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.   I have IE v6.0 and Cable Internet. Have already tried Rebooting & cleanup of Temporary Internet files but in vain.

Have you checked it today? Sometimes yahoo can be slow if a lot of activity is going on... :smileyhappy:

If everything else is downloading ok, I do not know what the problem could be, unless it is the security update. Have you checked your security system to see if this is the problem? In other words, go to (McAfee, Norton, etc.) security center and check your personal firewall system to see if yahoo mail is on there. I know with McAfee, it will block certain webpages if not okayed. Let me know if this helps!   :smileyhappy:

i had a Yahoo! e-mail address.......once! i quit it, it was slow with me also!

Is it IE 6 that you use for your yahoo mail? If so, have you tried * Firefox browser? * IE version 7 Beta preview (I have been using for weeks) ?

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. The problem got rectified by itself today. So seems it was an issue at Yahoo's end. However I appreciate your responses.   Neeraj
