Very Slow or Cannot Connect to Webpage when Connecting Wirelessly

Hello,
I have a Dell Inspiron Model 9300 laptop.  We have not used the wireless feature in about 5 months but when I try to connect to the internet now I make a connection with the Netgear wireless router but the webpage is very slow or times out after a few minutes and I cannot view the page. I am using Internet Explorer 7 along with Windows Service Pack 2.  It appears that a security setting is preventing me to view the contents of any webpage. I can check e-mail using MS Outlook Express with no problems.  When I was using Internet Explorer version 6.0 I had no problems connecting wirelessly.  Yesterday, I installed a software update for the Intel PRO 2200 wireless card thinking this may resolve the webpage display issue but it did not.  In fact, after installing the recommended intel PRO upgrade it altered how I log into my desktop.  The Welcome screen and Fast Switch modes have been disabled now and I log into my desktop using my ID and password in the login window.  What can I do to resolve both of these issues?:smileyhappy:

Hi, Try use XP WiFi software not Intel PRO/SET. You can't disable XP and two these programms can't work at once.

Okay, I will try this but I was using the Intel Proset without any issues like this before and I don't think using the Windows XP wireless will make a difference. :smileytongue:

It's still takes about two to three minutes to surf webpages even using the XP Wireless Network.  Let me know what else I should look for. Thanks

It could be a web site problem, but I hope not (and you try this one page from another PC :-) ). Slow connection could be in case of Firewall or Antivirus software. As well you have (?!) Firewall inside of your WiFi router. And check your connection speed and Windows services starting. Or just try another browser.
