As a troubleshooting step, will it properly connect if you boot to Safe Mode with Network Support?

Hi Steve,
it doesnt work. Same IP 169...
Does the router have security enabled? If so, does it connect if you temporarily disable the security?

If it doesn't work in Safe Mode with Network Support, it's not the McAfee Firewall causing the problem, because that doesn't load in Safe Mode.
No there is no security active. Its a standart Router PPPoE with NAT.
I actually think about the McAfee Security Center installed on the notebook. Any idea? Propably the McAfee Firewall blocks the DHCP request?
