WIDI on Windows 8 not working

I have a new Inspiron 15R SE.

I am not able to use the WIDI. I keep getting error messages on the adapter and also on my laptop.

I tried to download new drivers but it says my laptop is not a capable platform for WIDI.

Does WIDI work on Windows 8? I have been told I need to download the Windows 7 drivers?

Please help. By the way my adapter is a PS3.

Hello,
I tried the wireless display setup below.
My Intel WIDI program tells me “unable to connect to remote display”
My remote display reads – This content cannot be played (800288E1).

Still no luck getting the WIDI to function properly.

Regards

 Hi canman172,

If the TV has a HDMI port Refer to your TV manual to change the input or source to the appropriate HDMI port.

Certain TV’s have more than one HDMI ports, ex. HDMI-1, HDMI-2, HDMI-3

If you have connected the PS3 Adapter to HDMI-2 port on the TV, change the Source/Input on the TV to HDMI-2

Please check and reply.
