WLAN Adapter is not finding any router
Hi,
since one week I have a problem with my WLAN adapter. After an update of DELL (Dell client system update) and Windows updates it is not longer possible for me to find or join a wlan router.
I made all updates and als de- and re-installed everything.
Today I tried an USB WLAN adapter, but the same result, no WLANs identified.
Some ideas what is going wrong there?

Peter,
Please run the Finding System Information Tool and post the information back here.
Is there other networks in your area?
When you installed the USB adapter, did you insert the disk and install the software, then insert the adapter, when prompted?
Try powering off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any). Wait 30 seconds, then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on your wireless router(if any).
Restart your computer and try to connect.
What happens?

What operating system? 32-bit or 64-bit?
Which wireless adapter is installed?
Try hitting the Windows key and the R keys at the same time. Type
c:\systeminfo.txt
You'll need to remove the Product Id and the other personal things. I was interested in the above and at the boittom, the network adapters installed, if you can copy the cards.

ähhh, I already sent you everything what was printed into the file... I didn't delete anything!

I only see the Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection
I don't have the make and model of your computer or operating system. I also do not know if the operating system was recently installed. I suspect the wireless adapter may have come loose or maybe the adapter is one of the moidels that is having issues. The top part was important in the system information to help diagnose your problem. The tool was designed to remove most personal information. The ip addresses are only local router ip addresses that most people use.

I know, it was not printed very much.
It's a Dell Latitude E6520, bought 3 month ago.
As I wrote above, I tested today also with an USB WLAN Adapter from ALFA. Same result, no conection! Diffrent to the internal one, in the systray it is signed as active. The internal one I cant strat on the systemmanagement.

Peter,
Is your wireless router using Mac address filtering?
Start, control panel, networking an sharing center, click on your connection, properties.
Look for TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 and click on properties. Have your settings match mine.

If this is a new computer, then contact Dell Tech Support.
If an older system and you recently installed the operating system, did you install the drivers in the correct order? How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
