What do I do with this file folder- 44en712a.cab?
I just reinstalled Windows XP on my Inspiron 9300 and now am installing/updating all drivers. In the list for my laptop was included the above file, which appears to be a user manual for Broadcom ethernet (?)
The information on the "Drivers & Download" page simply says to "Run setup.exe after downloading to your hard disk." There is no setup.exe file included---just a bunch of files with the following extensions: htm, gif, css, xml, and hht. So do I just copy this folder to some other directory? Do I even need it? Thanks for any help you can offer.

I have the same issue with this file. How is it supposed to be installed?

Did you get the file from the Dell downloads section, 'coz I've never known them to provide drivers in CAB files?
But if it's just the manual, you don't need it anyway.
But for your information: You need a program which can view/extract CAB files - i.e. PowerArchiver 2009 or Ultimate Zip :emotion-5:

Thanks. I guess I didn't actually need the file(s), at least according to Dell tech support. The laptop does seem to be running just fine at this point.
