Wi-Fi disabling

Hi all

Is there a definitive way , on Dell laptops, to automatically disable the Wi-Fi adapter when the laptop is plugged into a docking station where the Ethernet port has a cable plugged in or an Ethernet cable is plugged into the Ethernet port.

These machines are all Dell machines running Windows 7 SP1 currently. Anyone got any ideas?

Regards

Hi zatennisfan,

Thanks for the post, Depending on the model of system that we are looking at a few options are available to configure the wireless devices to disable when a wired connection is established.

Most new Latitude / Precision laptops will have a setting in the BIOS that allows the system to automatically enable / disable wireless devices upon the connection of a wired network:

BIOS >> Power Management >> Wireless Radio Control

Check out the following guide for a few driver / software solutions to this as well.
