However, in networks I do not see it On and I am not able to select my wireless network.

Also, I am not able to see wireless led light  and power charging LED light on the panel.

Please hep to resolve this. Its very frustrating.

Hi Abhinav,

Please check if Wireless card is getting detected in 'Device Manager'. Here are the steps to open 'Device Manager':

  • Click on 'Start' and right click on 'Computer'.
  • Click on 'Manage'.
  • Click on 'Device Manager'.
  • Click on the '+' sign next to 'Networks adapters' to expand it.
  • Under 'Networks adapters', you will find the wireless card listed.
  • Please check if the card is detected here and if the drivers are installed.

Also, update the BIOS and Wireless drivers of the system. Here are the steps:

  • Click on the link: http://dell.to/QjjZDA
  • Enter the Service Tag of your system and select the operating system.
  • You will find the wireless driver under 'Network'.
  • Click on the wireless driver depending on the wireless card your system has.
  • Click on 'Download File'.
  • Select 'For Single File Download via Browser'.
  • Click on 'Download Now'.
  • Save the driver on your desktop.
  • Once the driver is saved on desktop, right click on it and select 'Run as administrator'.
  • Install the wireless driver by following the on screen instructions.

Follow the above mentioned steps in order to update the BIOS as well. Before updating BIOS please ensure that:

  • Battery is 10%> or >10% charged.
  • Battery charger should be connected.
  • No external devices (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) should be connected.
  • All other programs should be closed and documents saved.

Regarding the LEDs not showing on, it is possible that the LED board may be faulty.

Please share the findings.

Hi Saharsh,

I checked in device manager and I can see "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6230" listed and is enabled.

I also checked that my BIOS is up to date and network driver is also up to date.

Also the 3 LEDs are working. Setting, middle one and dell audio.

Can you please help further.

Thanks

Abhinav

Hi Abhinav,

There can be various possible reasons for this issue. Please try the following steps:

  • Check if your system is detecting other wireless connections apart from yours.
  • Try connecting your system to any hotspot.
  • Try connecting any other wireless device on your network and check if that works. If alternate device is also not able to detect your wireless network, then make sure that the SSID Broadcast is enabled in router settings.

Please share the results.
