Wireless Connection will not connect until Windows Login

I have a Vostro 1500 with Windows XP professional. I am using a Wireless Network Connection using Intel ProSet Wireless. The wireless connection will not complete until after I enter my Windows login. I have moved the wireless network to the top of the list of connections and I have checked the box that says Maintain Connection Across Logoff. I have software that needs to run before the Windows Login and it needs the network connection. Do you know why my wireless connection will not connect until after I enter my Windows login?

That's an interesting problem...

What I would guess has happened is that the ProSet utility only loads itself after you've logged in - that's typically when Windows will load any programs or services that you've set up to start automatically. I'm not sure if it will work or not, but you could try uninstalling the ProSet utility and use the built-in Windows wireless utility and see if that works better for you. Also make sure that all the users are configured to connect to the wireless network automatically.

Hope this helps.

You don't need to uninstall the ProSet Utility, you just have to check the option in ProSet to not let that utility manage your wireless connections.
