Wireless Network Not Connecting; Inspiron 1501 with a Dell Wireless 1390 WLan Mini Card

I'm having some incredibe difficulty getting my Inspiron 1501 to connect to my Linksys WRT610N wireless router.  Before a system reformat with a fresh installation of Windows XP Home Edition (which was the OS installed when delivered from dell), there was no issues with the wireless network.  After my reformat, I've been unsuccessful with every attempt to get the network going.

With the fresh install of XP, I've installed all the initial driver packages and utilities that were provided by Dell and have made sure to update all the drivers, bios and XP updates, along with the Linksys firmware update.  All with no successful connection.  I've noticed just most recently that the date for the updated driver, for the Dell Wireless 1390 Wlan mini card has not changed in all my driver update attempts (last driver file downloaded and install was R151517), it still shows driver date 10/12/06 though the release date was 3/23/07.

Anyways, I've tried having both the Dell utility manage the connection and Windows manage the connection sperately.  With each I'm able to see all networks availabe in my area, but I'm not given an IP from the router, though it see's my network, it just keeps trying to authenticate.  I am currently using a wireless adapater (Linksys Wireless-N USB Network Adapter) on my PC.  So I know the network works.  I've followed the wireless trouble shooting step by steps on the Dell website with 0 success and did some trouble shooting with the wirelss zero configuration to ensure it was started and enabled in my services with no success.

I'm sure its a setting of some sorts somewhere, but I'm honestly clueless with all my attempts of what it could possible by.  I'm sorry for the long post, I just wanted to make sure I gave enough information so we did not have to go through basic steps.  Any asisstance will be greatly appreciated.
