2. i solved it by this : control panel>administration tools>services>bluetooth support > change it from disabled to automatic & then restart the laptop , it will start working properly.
hey i have already done this , i think what i need is correct driver for my laptop. dell site still gives the driver for my laptop for card 1701 instead 1702 once i had that my issue will be resolved
yes , when i purchased the laptop it was having linux(ubunto) operating system in that my bluetooth device was working fine , i re-installed windows 7 after that i had run whole list of drivers according to the list in which it shoud be run . All settings are working fine except bluetooth.
hey, i had already installed the drivers according to the list which you have given. the driver i am using is also a combo driver (1702 802.11 b/g/n,bt3.0hs) which is listed for the dell vostro 1550 the link of this i have already given above. The wireless portion this driver is working absolutely fine it just the bluetooth driver which is giving trouble. i will try to install the driver which you have given, but please tell me i their is any diffference detween the two drivers.
hey rick in the windows mobiliy centre bluetooth shows it working fine . in the system tray it shows the bluetooth is working and when i click on the icon in the system tray it goes in the waiting mode showing that it is the process & it remains like that. The driver which you have given is not running & is saying software not supoorted by this driver .
This looks like a fairly new adapter for this and I do not see any specifications for this adapter, so please bear with us. Maybe Elijah has some information on the adapter.
You have the drivers saved on your system, correct?
Do you see the bluetooth devices in the device manager?
First try double clicking on each bluetooth device. Click on power management. Uncheck the box, allow the computer ot turn off this device to save power.
Also do this in the Universal Seriel Bus controllers, section.
Restart the computer and then see if bluetooth works.
While using Microsoft, there are few segment where I was facing some issue in my drivers. This blog helped me to update drivers easily automatically. Manual method is also available. Using device manager you can update your drivers from there.

PM_1986,
May I ask, did you recently install/reinstall the operating system?

PM_1986,
You instaled the files under system utilities and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers willl fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
Try installing the drivers in the correct order and see if things start working.
Dell Wireless 1701 Bluetooth v3.0+HS
I do not see the driver listed in your system.
I have located
Dell Wireless 1702 802.11 b/g/n, BT3.0+HS
for another model. The drivers may or may not work.

Here are places to look to see if your Bluetooth Connection is enabled
Click on start, in search type
bttray
click on bttray. This will put the bluetooth icon in the system tray, near the click. Bluetooth can be enabled/disablled from there.
Let me know the results on what happens.

PM_1986,
Go to the bluetooth icon in the system tray, near the clock.
Right click on it, then left click on show bluetooth devices. Is anything listed there?
Also start, control panel, device manager. Any yellow exclaimination marks or red x's?

PM_1986,
Glad you got it working! :emotion-21: Thanks for posting back. I think I should add that as another place to look for the connection to be enabled.
Take care,
Rick
