dell usb wireless network problems

All,

Can anyone help me ? I have just got a new desktop (its been a while since using one of these! ) I have also got a wireless network that i use with my laptops easily.

trying to connect the pc desk top to the network is easy enough however when I restart the desktop the machine cannot find the usb wireless.

it looks like the pc finds the device but the driver hasnt been found so on start up it puts it in the unknown devices list.  unplugging and repluging sorts the problem - but i dont want to have to crawl round the back every time to unplug the usb - thats crazy.

Disconnect the USB wireless adapter, and then remove all software that was installed with it via START | (SETTINGS) | CONTROL PANEL | Add/Remove Programs. Then, reinstall the device exactly according to the instructions. If there is no hardcopy documentation available, you may find the online User's Guide for your product here.

Cody,

I am afraid that this hasnt worked - I still after several install reinstall atempts have to unplug the device every time to pick it up.

Its crazy - I bought 2 exactly the same spec machines at the same time one for me one for my dad.  Mine works ok (I installed first before plugging in the device - his doesnt he plugged it in first)

There has got to be a fix for this = else I might have to call the support engineer!

Its like the hardware is found but the device isnt recognised as the driver hasnt been loaded - can you change the order the drivers are loaded?  So the device driver is loaded before the usb ports are scanned.

Regards

Ben
