inspiron 1012 cannot detect wireless network card.
Hello, I need help. I got DELL inspiron 1012 with built-in mini wireless card in windows 7 starter. The laptop could detect the card and I could connect to the internet until when I downgraded to windows XP service pack 3, and then it could not detect the card anymore. I downloaded all of the driver in DELL support site and installed them to the laptop but it sitll could not "see" the card. I checked in the Device Manager and did not see the folder "Network Adapter" at all. Any one had an idea what went wrong? I appreciate any suggestion that I have not performed. Thanks.

titeo,
When you down graded, did you install the notebook system utility and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Thanks for the info. I downloaded the chipset driver and installed. It can detect the card and I can connect to the network now. However, I cannot connect to the internet though the icon on the task bar showed that it was connected to the network. I tried Tools/Diagnose Connection Problems in IE but still cannot get to the internet. Is there any suggestions? Thanks,
