need help with network printer sharing!
I have spent 1 + hours on the phone with the useless dell tech support, i got nothing more than a "hold on" from 5 dff tech's of which spoke little english, i have no prob with that except , let me talk to someone i can understand:
Now for my prob, i can't seem to dl the dell software onto the remote pc , which is what i was asked to do in the 3 step how to, in dell solutions. i just bought a dell all-in-one a960, prior to that i had a epson stylus c80 inkjet with no prob shareing..................like i said , i got nothing from dell support but hold on and than a disconnect!
So! what do i need to do to get this printer to share? i've tried the sharing options in both pc and nothing. in my printer & faxes (contro panel) i have the dell icon but in the lappy i have nothing ...... both pc's are on windows xp home edition.......i am connected to the internet via dsl modem and using a linksys 4 port router..........no probs with the router because the lappy is connected thru it. Thanks

Ok to share a printer... on which ever PC the printer is actually attached to, go to:
start/printers & faxes/ and then right click on the printer and choose sharing...... then enable sharing, give it a name that makes sense to you. And then enable it.
Then go to the other computer, and all you have to do is ADD a new printer and choose network.. and find it. This will then install drivers etc onto the computer automatically.

Is an excellent place to get the basics, just to add to what Seventy has already posted.
