I'm not a computer expert, so if any one have an answer for this question I appreciate it. I have two desktop computers and I have a cable modem for DSL service on one of them, I just one to know if it is possible to share my modem to conect the other computer to the same modem and have internet access on both computers if this is possible how can I split the ethernet cable???well I'm not sure if this could be!!!.

Thanks in advance

JP7412,

You can purchase a router and share your internet connection between the two computers.  Dell sells routers and so does your local computer store.  You can purchase a router from an online vendor such as newegg, tigerdirect and others.  You can check this site for info on setting up your home network:

You can even get wired and wireless routers and adapters at Wal-Mart.  Many of the router types that you will need may be labeled "Cable/DSL Router".  This indicates that there is a port on the router specifically for connecting to the Cable or DSL modem.  The other ports are used for the PC's.
