"ethernet" does not have a valid IP configuration

Date: January 1, 2016

To Dell Tech Support and Community,

I have a brand new (received it from Dell on Dec 30, 2015) Dell Latitude E7450 computer, running 64 bit, Windows 10 operating system.

I get this error when trying to connect to the internet:

"ethernet" does not have a valid IP configuration

I can clear the error for a while by typing at  the command prompt, the following command:

                  netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Then pressing  ENTER and rebooting the computer.

I have checked the drivers with the Dell driver utility and it indicates that they are all up to date, although intel says on Dec 16, 2015 they released a new driver for the Dual Band Adapter AC 7265, which this computer has installed.  However, Intel recommends getting the driver from Dell because of "potential vendor modifications".

After a few reboots, the situation reoccurs.   I again go through this procedure which again clears the problem for a while.    This is very annoying for a brand new  computer and the temporary solutions described above is NOT a long run fix.   If it cannot be repaired soon, I will be forced to return the computer for full refund!
