removing network bridges

somehow, I have inadvertently set up network bridges (3).  When I try to delete them, I always get a message window;

'An unexpected error occurred while configuring the Network Bridge'.

I am attempting to delete them thru Control Panel, Network Connections (right clicking).

I have two systems networked together thru a router.

How can I delete these bridges? (an one system only).

Neither networked computer needs the bridge entry - the router is the "bridge", actually the gateway in your situation.  You might be able to delete them in a certain order, or try booting to the Safe Mode and delete them there.

I am not sure if you can delete a bridge by selecting the bridge and then file>delete. To have your connections "unbridged", rt click the connection itself and select "remove from bridge". When less then two connections are bridged the bridge itself will be removed. This does not remove or disable the connection itself, just the bridge.

just a followup to  my original question.

i was able to remove the bridges by going to device drivers, under 'system' in control panel.  i then did uninstall for all three network bridges.

they no longer show up.

thanks for your help & have a good, safe 2004.
