XP wont recognize it at all, even when it is hooked up to a phone line. The Client Manager interferes with XP's built in drivers for the card, and when I tried it it didnt work anyways.
When you power up the RG-1000, it should go through a sequence of illuminating the fromt panel lights, ending with the top (Power) LED illuminated.
Check the Device Manager for verification that the miniPCI card is functioning properly.
Also refer to the User Guides, in the Product Support area accessable through the tab at the top-left of these pages. The RG-1000 is listed under Network / Dell Wireless Access Point/Routers/Gateways / Dell TrueMobile 1150 Series RG1000.

I cannot tell exactly what steps you have taken during installation. Communication with the RG should be established during the initial setup.
