what is the difference between a Wireless Broadband Card and the Wireless Networking Cards

Hello

I just bought my first laptop Inspiron 1525 equipped with a Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g Mini-Card(Wireless Networking Cards) and I have no clue what does it means. Is it the same thing as a wireless broadband card like  the Novatel V740 PC/Mac Wireless Broadband Card ? Do I have to buy a broadband card separately ? the one mentioned (Novatel) is indicated that it is Available For Purchase Without Service Plan ........ Does it means that I do not need a plan from a server for my laptop to function ? And if I do not buy a broadband card does my laptop will connect without having a plan?

Now I see that all broadband comes from cell phones companies like Verizon, T-mobile, Sprint, Att...... Does it means that I need a cell phone registed with one them for my laptop to function if I buy a broadband card from one of them or is it 2 totally different things and I can buy any broadband cards despite of my cell phone company?

Thanks to explain what is the difference between what is already installed on my computer and this broadbank card which I do not understand

the dell 1395 card is for your wireless internet,,,and you have to have a wireless router for it to work.

the wireless broadband card is for internet service, cell phone service , from a provider that will furnish this service for you....and you must have the correct broadband card from provider that you are going to use.
