which ethernet controller driver to user on inspiron 500m?
cannot find a driver on the support page...

I'm assuming you're running Windows XP. Please visit the link below to the downloads page for that model running WinXP. If you click on "Network Drivers" it should expand a list and it appears that the only internal drivers are the "Intel (R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection." It looks like everything else is for different wireless adapters.
