windows server tutorial?

I'm new to this area. I was wondering if I wanted to set up one of my extra computers as a server how do I go about
learning all the particulars? Where should I start? I like to inversitgate stuff before I dive in.
I don't have any real need to do this. I would just like to learn how to. I can't seem to find where to get the basics.

Is ther any help out there?

Thanks

The best place to start would be at a bookstore that carries Microsoft publications.  Yea, I know it's boring reading, but some of the books include trail version of the software, and the software is also available for download from Microsoft.

I haven't seen a "dummies" book on servers but that doesn't mean there isn't one.  If this is a hobby, that will probably suffice as a knowledge base along with any forum related to the subject.  I would also recommend investigating a local community college as a knowledge base for furthering your education on the subject if you choose.
