wireless usb adapter not recognizing netgear equipment

Just purchased a Dimensions E510 and Dell's wireless USB adapter (145OU).  The adapter is unable to recognize my Netgear network that I have had in place for less than a year and have had no problems with.  The adapter is able to recognize my neighbors router. My Dell notebook had no problem connecting to the Netgear router.
 
Dell is trying to tell me there is a problem with my router, but that makes no sense to me. Anybody have an recommendations or similar problems.

i think you need the Netgear wireless router that has the eithernet connections but also has the 2 usb ports. i think if you hook up the printer to the netgear unit via usb then everything should work. dell is telling me the same thing to buy the dell adapter to print wireless. i dont think they understand netgear makes a new router for this. it is the netgear wgps606 and you can get it at best buy. i am not sure if this will work but if you take a look at the router i think you might agree it should work.
