xircom 10/100 Network+56k Modem PC Card died

Hi,

I have a Latitude CSx, with a xircom 10/100 Network+56k Modem PC Card. After I power up the machine, I see no lights to the network card, and the machine sees no network. This just so happened to stop working after a big electrical storm (my machine was off), if that matters. I'm not sure where to start looking for a solution. (the other machines in my house continue to work fine).

Any ideas appreciated.

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Portable systems have very sensitive components and one of these may have been damaged by a spike in the electrical current. 

  • Try the card in a different system that is uneffected by the storm. 
  • Try using a different card in this system to see if the PC slot works.
  • Reload the drivers for the card on the system and try to place it in the system.
