Difficulty logging into a website

Hi:

Need help on a problem peculiar to my Inspiron 9300 laptop. The problem does not crop up if I log into either site from a different computer.
1.	I am able to open the following sites: www.onlinesbi.com and www.sbtonline.in – both sites belong to the State Bank group .
2.	After the site opens I am supposed to click on the “Personal Banking” button on the right side of the screen. Clicking the “Personal Banking” button gives me access to: i. the User Name ii. online virtual keyboard and iii. the Password boxes.
3.	On my laptop, the site becomes “unresponsive” after clicking the “Personal Banking” button and I get no access to the “Login to OnlineSBI “ screen to access my accounts.

I do not get the above problem if I log into other sites or bank sites. The problem is peculiar to just these 2 websites. My laptop came preloaded with an authentic Windows XP Media Center Edition operating system with Service Pack 2 which was updated to Service Pack 3 by a Microsoft download. I use IE 6. Unfortunately, an upgrade to IE 8 or Firefox browser did not help so I reverted to IE6 with which I am comfortable. The problem first arose around April 1 or 2, 2009 and I have not been able to rectify it. The XP “system restore” to March 27, 2009 did not help either.

Will appreciate your help.

Thanks

Pramod

Are you using Internet Explorer 8 (and maybe V7)?  There have been posts about some bank sites set up for older browsers.  If this is the case, download the Firefox3 browser and try that one.

Pramod,

Hi, my name’s Feran and I’m with the Internet Explorer Outreach Team. If you are using IE8, try enabling the compatibility mode. It is the broken page icon next to the refresh button on the toolbar.

Thanks,
Feran

Hi:

I tried the Firefox 3.08 but it did not help. After that I have removed both IE8 and Firefox 3.08 and reverted to

IE6 with which I am Comfortable. Looks like if something on my laptop blocks/makes the "Personal Banking" button  unresponsivve

after a proper login into the site. I can operate other functions on the site except the "personal banking" button.

Thanks for your help and reply.

Feran

The problem is still unresolved. It is possible that there may be a a problem with IE6. Is there a method that I can

delete the pre-loaded IE6 which Dell loaded on the machine and the reload it. I ask this because in the Control Panel (Remove/Add section) I do not see the

IE6. My idea was to delete and then substitute IE6 by reloading it

Thanks
