Help with Dell Monitor issue

I turned off my monitor today while cleaning up my desk, and when I went to turn the monitor back on, the on/off button is flashing and will not turn back on. The computer is on, but the monitor is black... with the lcd light flashing... Any solutions?  I have restarted the computer several times but ...no success in getting the monitor to come on... still the flashing on/off button.

Hello,

Turn off the system. Make sure that the video cable is fully connected at both ends by unplugging and replugging it at both ends.  While you have the cable unplugged, look at the ends to see if there is any damage. Restart the system to see if this helps.

I am having a similar issue with my monitor.  The CPU is running fine, however, the monitor will go into standby mode (blank screen) and the power LCD light on the monitor will being flashing.  Does this mean the monitor is beginning to die out?
