I need Help
I am confronting problems with my Dell 4600I, the following messages come up when I boot my computer, I need help

Dell system dimension 4600i series Bios Version a12, www.Dell.com Invalid configuration information please run setup program, performing automatic ide configuration Primary Master : Disk Drive, Secondary Master: CD-Rom device, time-of-day not set please run set up program strike the F1 to continue F2 to run the setup utility.

If you run the setup (F2) and save the changes or set the BIOS (Setup) to defaults and save is it OK? It soulds like the backup battery for the BIOS may be bad since you are also getting the date/time not set. The battery provides power to the BIOS when the PC is powered off so it doesn't lose it's settings.
The battery is located on the motherboard and is a standard 3 volt CR2032 coin cell battery that you can get many places including WalGreens, Wal-Mart, etc.
See THIS in the manual.
Replace the battery reset the BIOS (setup) back to the factory defaults, that should take care of the problems.
