Inspiron 6000 with mind of its own
My Inspiron 6000 decides when to work and when to sleep. The power cable light comes on and off when ever, when i can get the computer working it comes on the screen "cannot determine power supply please use 65W power cable" thats what the power cable is and does not charge the battery. And the internet is really slow loading up and i use Mozilla Firefox.
Please help because computers are not my "forte"

Hello,
I could be one of three things.
Bad power adapter, Bad cable on power adapter, Bad power plug on the laptop.
You can move the cable around to see if/when the power light tells you that the system is charging. Wiggle the AC ends, same with both ends of the DC side cable. Push move, the connector at the laptop to see if the charging light comes on.
Best case is that you just need a new power supply. Worst case is that the connection at the motherboard is failing.
