Problem using the Community forums
During the last few days, I have been unable to login to the forums. When I try to login the message is, "We are sorry but there seems to be a problem. Please try again after some time.". I changed the password and still couldn't login. For some reason I could login later. I can't give kudos or edit a post I just created. I'm using Firefox version 68.0.1 (64-bit), Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu 1.0. Any ideas why this forum is not being friendly for me ?
Hmm, so after U2CAMEB4ME advised to click the 3 dots menu, if I view the thread here, I see my original post and six replies. But only the first post has the 3 dots menu?

Yep, also MicroFocus seem to use Lithium. No issue with Firefox there.

Hi jehoshua,
Just wanted to check with you while they're working on this. Have you seen any improvement or changes with your access to the Forum?
Regards,
Robert

Hi @robert p ,
Thanks for your help. I still cannot give a kudos. The 3 dots seem to only appear for the first post, so in a thread like this, I can't modify/edit most posts. I'm not getting email notifications.

Hi jehoshua,
Thanks for your reply. I do apologize, for the time it's taken so far, but it is fairly unique situation with only a couple of users reporting having the same issue.
Assuredly, the Lithium team is working hard on this. They have been unable to duplicate the issues you are seeing on their end, but are still working to try and resolve this for you.
Thanks for your patience.
Regards,
Robert

Yep, nothing has changed. BTW concerning the email notifications: As a matter of fact an SPF record exists:
dellcommunity.dell.com. 600 IN TXT "v=spf1 ip4:208.74.204.0/23 ip4:46.19.168.0/23"
but there is no MX (or A) record, so most spamfilters will just throw those mails away, like Postfix configured using reject_unknown_sender_domain
I don't understand how it can be that hard to fix this. Especially since it is totally clear what needs to be fixed for that part.
Oh and for the rest, are you saying that they can't reproduce what we're saying by using Firefox to browse the community? Have they even installed and tried it? What attempts exactly were made?

I'll be. It's Adblock Plus. @jehoshua do you have any ad blockers installed?
Good question though what makes the first three dots on each page special...
UPDATE The widgets from addthis.com seem to be blocked by Fanboy's social blocking list.
UPDATE2 Also "social media icons tracking" in ABP seems to be an issue. It's interesting though that it doesn't pose a problem on other Lithium powered sites.

Hi @jammac ,
Thanks for your replies.
I don't know how to quote with this Lithium forum software; there is no function to do so in the editor, so will just use ">>"
>>BTW concerning the email notifications: As a matter of fact an SPF record exists:

Yes, most email servers will reject the email, especially if there are authentication errors.
>>I'll be. It's Adblock Plus. @jehoshua do you have any ad blockers installed?
For Firefox, there is just the standard 'content blocking' that comes with it. I do have "block pop=up windows but Firefox always let's me know if a site is requesting that, so then I can make a choice. It has tracking settings as standard. The only extensions or plugins I have with FF is "Facebook purity" , but that's only for FB.
With Brave it does have an 'ad blocking' enabled, but I can only login with Brave,.
But in summary, over the years I must have registered for hundreds of forums and the Dell Community forums is the only one with these types of problems. As you say, all Dell have to do is try the forums with the same FF version as we use.
Cheers

Yes, but if users can't login, how are they going to report the issues ?
I can't login at all now with Firefox, and fortunately have been able to use Brave, however it is not up to date, so it's not something I want to use a lot.

@jehoshua Can you create a new profile in FF and try using that? Can you provide a complete list of extensions and addons installed? Maybe you're using a filtering proxy?

So, it has been about 9 months since I visited these forums. Tried logging in, same problem. Had to reset the password once again ...sigh
