Help! - Monitor Driver Not Self-Extracting ... what next?

I have an E207WFP monitor and can't get the driver from Dell to install.  Instructions say it's is a self-extracting zip, but it does not appear to be ... any ideas out there about what to do next?  Thanks.

Hi, Tplight:

The driver appears to be an EXE file, which means if you double click the file, it will extract itself into the proper directory. Then you can run the driver update procedure from there.

Hi Osprey4,

Thanks for the input ... I can get the .zip to extract files to the appropriate driver folder, but none of the installation process happens.  From the Dell installation instructions, it looks like the winzip self extractor is supposed to start up and initiate the installation process, but instead i just end up with the following files extracted (the only files contained in the .zip):

E207WFP.inf

e207wfp.cat

E207WFP.icm

So I have the files, but I don't know what to do with them next ....

Ok, sounds like you're on your way. Here's how to update the driver manually.

Open device manager, locate the monitor, and right click on its name or icon and choose Properties. In this Properties window, click the Driver tab. Click the Update Driver... button. The Hardware Update Wizard will begin. To the "Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for software?" question, choose the No, not this time radio button and then click the Next > button. To the "What do you want the wizard to do?" question, choose the Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) radio button and then click the Next > button. The next window that appears will be the Please choose your search and installation options. window containing several radio buttons and checkboxes. Choose the Don't search. I will choose the driver to install. radio button and then click the Next > button. Click the Have Disk... button on the Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware. window. Click the Browse... button on the Install From Disk dialog box that appeared. In the Locate File dialog box that appears next, navigate to the folder that you extracted as part of the driver download. The actual driver file is the one with an INF extension. Click the OK button back on the Install From Disk dialog box. Choose the newly added hardware back on the Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware. window and then click the Next > button. If you're prompted with a message warning you about the software for the hardware device not passing the Windows Logo testing, click the Continue Anyway button. Many drivers are not Windows certified but are still perfectly safe to install.

That should do it!! :)
