390, maximum memory?
According to the spec sheets, the maximum memory you can install into an Optiplex 390 is 8 GB. Can anyone tell me why that is? I thought the chipset in this computer would support 2 x 8 GB dimms? Is that just old information, or is there really a 2 x 4GB maximum? Why would that be?

Has anyone tried 32gb RAM in a Dell Optiplex Motherboard i5-2400.??
I have new PSU with more power which may help this extra ram.

I'm not gonna say it's impossible, but last time I checked, 8 GB was the highest density memory module available that's compatible with the CPU memory type (DDR3 1066/1333, per Intel's specs.) You could definitely try 32, but I wouldn't expect the machine to POST.
If anyone does get 32 GB working, be sure to post the full specs, brand, and model number of RAM so the rest of us know what to get.
In the meantime, all 4 of my 390s (2 SFF, 2 MT) are rocking 16 GB RAM.

I am happy to report that my DELL 390MT now has 16GB of memory, although official dell spec claims 8GB as max. Here is the RAM i installed:

Good day, I am interested in knowing if this could also work for the Dell Optiplex 390 SFF. I have been looking to upgrade the ram, and this article popped up.

¿Sigue funcionando solo con los 4 GB de RAM? Si lo hace, el BIOS se puede actualizar.
¿Entiendo lo que dijiste? ¿Has terminado con 2 x 4 GB de RAM? La buena noticia es que la RAM total de 8 GB funciona bastante bien con Windows 10.
¿Tiene algún programa que se esté ejecutando lentamente, por lo que desea aumentar la memoria RAM?

En realidad no puedo actualizar el Bios ya que la máquina no pasa del POST.
La enciendo, los 2 abanicos se activan y en el panel frontal salen los número 1y3.
Se reinicia 3 veces y se apaga.
Estoy terminada con 2 tarjetas de 4gb.
Anteriormente ella solo tenía 4gb y le agregué otra de 8gb, me limitó un tiempo y empezó a dar lo que le escribí arriba.
