9020 Boot Problem

So, I was trying to take out the motherboard of my Optiplex 9020 to move it into a new case. I took out most of the cables, but put them all back when I decided to just get a new motherboard. When I put all of the cables back, I plugged the computer in but the power button just blinked orange -- that is until I eventually found out that unplugging the SSD let the PC boot.
Unplugging RAM or the CD drive didn't do anything, and the SSD is fine. I've read that a bad battery can cause this to happen, but I'm guessing it's something I did wrong. So, unless I can boot from a USB, is there any hope for this PC?

Thanks in advance for any answers

Does the power button blink orange in a certain pattern?  If so, these are diagnostic indicators and can be helpful in assisting you troubleshoot your machine, and posting the blink pattern here could help us help you...

Follow the 9020 manual to reconnect all cables.  At minimum you need 8 pin + 4 pin power for motherboard + CPU as well as power switch cable.  You also need to have securely connected video cable btn pc and monitor.  You always need ram installed to let pc have successful Post (power on self test).  Odd etc are not essential to Post.  If power button blinks amber and no video, that is no Post.

if pc is able to post successfully without ssd, then test again with ssd with cables connected per manual.  Sometimes a drive fails power on test for whatever reason (does not have to be bad ssd).
