As it turns out, the bios updates had been applied. msinfo32.exe showed the bios was updated; both command update and supportassist took a long time to register the change. I have one pc that DCU shows A19, but msinfo32.exe shows A20. The 3.1 version of CDU is defective in that regard, and also in that all of the pcs show Last Checked as Never.
Hello, I will be happy to log a call on all the faulty machines. Could you help me with their service tags and issue specific to that machine? We may have to run through some basic troubleshooting and if necessary I can arrange for service calls. ^SP
One thing I don't understand is how command update and support assist relate to each other. Is one supposed to be better than the other, or is one replacing the other? I've found discussions on this topic but nothing definitive. Most of those conversations were about problems with those programs.
Hello uniquehandle, I believe this should answer why the installed updates weren't recognised. In relation to the last checked as never, I was able to replicate in on my notebook. I will pass this on to the team working on it and hopefully, these will be fixed in the next update.

Hi, the only common function in both is driver updates. Support Assist is a lot more than that. See the Support Assist video here.
