MANY sites and "official sounding companies" offer Gigabytes of "FREE CLOUD Backups"!
The Home Pages and 'signup' screens LOOK quite "professional" ~ but too often these sites are bogus. They often misspell a company name like McAfeed or Norrtons etc. just to hook you.
Calvin, LEGIONS get 'hooked', signup and happily UPLOAD VOLUMES of data! And most times ~ ALL of your 'personal' information too! What's more is YOU "give" them your PASSWORD "to" yourfiles when you signup!
Armed with your data (AND password), they simply lock you out or block you out by changing your password and blocking your IP address. Or after a few weeks they totally abandon the site WITH ALL data stored on drive(s) and away they go to setup a NEW great-looking site. That cloud AND your data are gone!
Calvin, all they REALLY want are bank and credit card numbers, PayPal passwords AND LINKS to private company sites (just like yours) and often WITH passwords YOU provide!
They "HARVEST" as MUCH information as they can, then DUMP the rest. OFTEN, they also hack and attack company sites ~ just like YOURS... with 'keys to the vault (passwords)' YOUMAY have inadvertently provided? Tiny files that log and send ALL keystrokes are more than common too...
They often wait a few days OR hack during hours they KNOW your company is closed when the chances of being 'detected' are less as they comb through your company server(s)... Weekends are a favorite time too. THENthey hit the company with "ransomware" often "teasing" victims with 'samples' of sensitive information actually harvested from the company servers!
A company server LIST of employees AND their 'official and approved' passwords are more gold. So a band of three or even two persons MAY get THOUSANDS of dollars (Euros or whatever) for just a few hours of work... but NOW they have even MORE personal addresses AND passwords to hack!@
Calvin... SOLID STATE DRIVES are more than reasonable now! Some connect right to your computer USB ports and you can do a FULL "CLONE" to them. You should be able restore 100% ~ as of the date you cloned last.
Final notes:
BEFORE you attach your "backup clone drive" ~ DISCONNECT your Internet! WHEN you are 100% SURE your company Internet servers are restored and "100%SAFE" ~ then reconnect your Internet.
*** Let's HOPE your backed-up data does NOThave that same VIRUS stored in it ~ because IF it does, the VIRUS starts all over again on the network!
Also some tiny files called 'Trojans' that WAIT for a specific DATE to restart and infect again ~ and again... until you FIND the offending file and delete it. So lets say that day is the 25th of every month... the file runs and fetches the LATEST and NEWEST virus again... No one on the site is 'totally safe' ~ not even administrators.
Calvin, know even POLICE stations and hospitals get hacked and pay randsomes too. Heck, I keep TWO clone drives and still don't feel 'safe'.

After June 21st, 2016 the Dell Backup and Recovery Cloud Storage service will be discontinued and no access will be provided. All stored data will be securely erased and purged from the Dell Backup and Recovery Cloud Storage system.

There are no backups now.
