Dell Command Update 3.1 & Optiplex BIOS update issues

I have encountered two persistent issues with Dell Command Update 3.1 and updating BIOS on my Optiplex estate.

1) I have a BIOS Admin password set. Previous versions of DCU would pop up a password box when installing a BIOS update. 3.1 does not - it will just sit at the bios update process indefinitely. It looks like there is an option to set the password in the DCU settings, but I don't want to do this as it exposes the password to admin users.

Please, someone fix it so that if a password is required, the prompt box comes back!

2) I have discovered that BIOS updates will not function on headless systems (ie those without connected display and keyboard/mouse).

NO PC stated all,,  why leave  that out>

I'd never do auto updates, why risk bricking PC, use manual F12, hot key way, stated on your BIOS page under instructions (non windows)dell support page, read that>?

the answer to headless is easy (kinda)

first off many GPU  cards (got those?) will not work headless lacking a monitor, so we use  dummy ,VGA.DP,HDMI,DVI plug there. (cheap)

the plug has an eDID chip there (for DP and HDMI) that lies to the PC or GPU card telling it , that it has a monitor present and does not. (works perfect)

my Dell 3020 runs headless. (and lots more)

I could tell more but gee no PC told nor what is inside, it. (pci-e slot wise)

the liar plug must be on the active port.,  (if GPU card there, then there)

google for headless dummy plugs (xyz) put your port class in place of xyz

or at ebay.

here they all are here, and tested.
