Dell KRC95 and gpu

I'm not knowledgeable about this stuff and my son knows a lot more than me.  He tried his own build and is using a Dell KRC95 motherboard.  He has PSU of over 600w.  He added a GPU, a RX 580 but it does not work. He just gets a black screen.  I don't understand any of what I have just written, it's just what he told me      I know enough to look for compatibility of these things online, and I seem to have found conflicting opinions. He has connected the GPU using a 6 pin and 2 pin connector cable. I have seen that this needs "one dedicated 8 pin connector cable" to work.  Could this be the problem? Or is this motherboard not compatible with the GPU?  I have seen that mentioned on these boards that dell does not work with these cards. Can anyone help?

The 6+2 connector is fine. The purpose is that some cards require 6 pin and some 8 so you may or may not need the extra 2 pin connector. This forum post pretty well addresses the problem with the 7010MT motherboard. Has he tried another GPU yet? And make sure that the GPU is plugged into the top PCIe slot (blue one I believe).

Hello everyone , two options here

Option 1 - The rx 580  was dead or the vbios on it isn't the good maybe it's the vbios for mining

Option 2 - u just need to update firmware  from bios motherboard for use uefi shell and disable legacy option rom for get screen , some graphic card get double bios for uefi/legacy  , but more recent just get uefi bios , that's make the exact thing u describe  , black screen ^^
