Thank you for your thoughts Don, but I need a technically specific response. I'm aware of USB 3 connectivity etc. I need input for the specifics listed. PCIe cards are quite cute these days and have bootable rom etc., I need to know whether the specific model motherboard is "aware" of these devices. Anyone?

I don't see why you couldn't as long as you have an empty slot. But you probably can't boot from any drives on it.
You can also consider USB 3 external drives. There are PCIe cards for that too, if the 3020 only has USB 2.
