Here's a sample of what you should see.  Difference is Line in is highlighted and not the microphone.  Record tab I was thinking of does say "Recording."  If by chance you're still not seeing the Recording tab, could you please upload a screengrab?  Thanks.

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

Control Panel > Speaker icon.  (This isn't the speaker icon on taskbar.)  Record tab > microphone icon > another window opens > Listen tab > Click Listen to this device.

This is whether you have Win7 or 10.

If by chance this doesn't work, please let me/us know.

Desktop is a handy place to have that speaker icon.

Hey, I've been having the same issue for at least an hour now, I've followed this but it's saying that the Line in is not connected, what do I do to solve the issue?

Did you even get a pop-up asking what's plugged into the Line in?

Try a different name brand audio cable.  I ended up leaning it's all too easy to buy a generic cable, like from eBay, and it doesn't work properly.  I've had very good luck with Amazon Basics and BlueRigger (on Amazon) cables.  They're thicker than the cheap stuff and audio quality is better.
