Where are you getting the wrong idea that it won't be able to boot from a SSD because it has legacy BIOS? ? ?

From a friend with a Dell with Legacy bios who tried to fit an M2 disk and it wasn't recognised. I guess I could tell him he was wrong

You cant boot from PCI-E ssd.
You can from SATA 2.5 inch SSD where bios is set to AHCI not IRRT or ATA.
Your friend must believe in doing things the hard way.
I have always used regular 2.5" SSDs .
