Do I need to install Ubuntu driver package question?

I don't have specific knowledge of this, but almost certainly you don't need it and shouldn't try to install it. You can see in the download page that the driver package applies to a Dell-supplied version of Ubuntu from 2013, ten major releases behind the release on which Mint 21 is based. I imagine the fixes included in the driver patch have long since been incorporated into Ubuntu. If you run into problems, I suspect the Linux General forum is the place to report them.
