9020mt’s are not hard to find but where I live they are expensive 2-3 even 4 hundred dollars. What I was planning to do was upgrade the power supply put a 1050 ti or gtx 760. I had some optiplex’s but the form factors were sff and usff which are both to small to put a full size graphics card into. Since these were office computers they are easy to find but not for cheap some people overpay like 2-3 hundred dollars. Where did you get your optiplex’s from? When these are upgraded properly they have a lot of potential. Again to me these are only worth 40-70 dollars the newer 9020’s are worth also more than that, that is the reason I’m trying to get a 790mt even if they have bad psu and hdd I’m swapping them out for more powerful ones and for the hdd I have my own with all my games and softwares. If I can find them in lots for $200 I can have multiple uses for them.
I&rsq in Canada and yes 40 is a really cheap price I will put it to 70 I don’t really care if it has a hdd or not because I have own. I have a dell optiplex 7010 but it’s an SFF with a gt 1030 and a i5 3570. I was trying to get a 790 MT but it was a bit too old. Now i want a 3020 or 9020 MT as you said.
buy the 3020MT it will be the best and lowest cost Gen4 Intel (i5) PC, learn to shop on ebay
learn to wait, and look and linger, even bid $50 and win a bid, I'd never bid before 1 hour to the end, not me.
That way you don't shill your self.
learn to put a watch on ebay, called now "saved searches" then when one shows up cheap, you buy it before others see it, even at 5am in the morning it sends you email on saved searches, and bingo , $50 PCs.
there are stores that sell used PC but you will not like the price, I sure,
3020 uses crippled chipset that cannot do AHCI. Inspiron 620 has same issue.
3020 only has 2 ram slots not 4.
3010 7010 9010 and earlier are not recommended because they have spectre and meltdown issues that will never be fixed.
The processors which Intel won’t be patching include four lines from 2007, Penryn, Yorkfield, and Wolfdale, along with Bloomfield (2009), Clarksfield (2009), Jasper Forest (2010) and the Intel Atom SoFIA processors from 2015.
speedstep the man said $40 and I bet they not in the USA and has limited access. to used PCs. from his posts.
there is nothing wrong with the i5 gen 4 processor at all.
The BIOS is ok. and runs SSD fast, you do not need AHCI, sorry you do not need that, eva. The PC loads w10-64bit hands free, and no errors, at all, if you learn try that. (no dead chips at day1)
i bet he does not need 32GB of ram.
use the 9020mt is best, but not easy to find for everyone on earth and costS more than $40 (HIS DEMAND)
A copy & paste from the 2nd article speedstep linked:
"What can you do if your system is affected?
First: keep calm. So far, no Spectre / Meltdown-based attacks have been reported. Make sure to keep your system always up to date. Even though the issues are hardware-related, manufacturers are rolling out software patches to mitigate the vulnerabilities.

no country stated, we are USA, and busying things used varies .by the following VARIABLES (facts)
(location,location,location)
1:distance to the store, for sure if shipped this alone can be $50 shipping in usa, 48 states. are you >?>
2: (econ101, supply and demand) (as in LAW OF...) "remember Base Ball card crazies""or PET ROCK"
3: used has vast quality features, comes used with no HDD or now 1/2 dead, (means NOGOOD)
4: upgrades to PC like far better GPU cards, or missing or added vast options , like wifi, and more. or SSD !!!!
5: warranty, (not one is free, ever, you pay for it, for sure)
6: comes with a monitor.(screen)
7: case type, the MT is worth more
8: convenience, you find brick store walk in and pay more, for THIS.
buy the 9020 or 3020 MT, do not buy small case PC, that way ALL UPGRADES FIT< OK> is this clear>?
if short of cash, ($40 limits stated) simple search ebay.
I got my 3020MT, for $50 and had to wait, learn that being patience wins,
there is no better way to learn base true value than this. link, below, SOLD DATA !!! actual.
here is the completed EBAY sold 3020MT and shows what they sell for, easy as eating apply pie.
those ARE CONUS shipping rates USA< so, if not here, prices will be higher. most times. but depends on facts able, that is my econ class today.
My 3020mT can run any card.GPU. any.
the 9020mT can do 32GB for DDR RAM, 2x 3020. so if no need for that go with 3020MT,
3020 is gen 4 CPU Haswell CPU and is best or newer. gen. GP Gen 4 go MT case, win.

the word cheap has no meaning in this context, (low grade is cheap, poor grade)
in- expensive also has no meaning lacking any dollar limit. Unstated.
what do you mean by cheap, I can not guess what you did not state.$$$$$$$ limit,
must be less that $20 that it? (wild guess me,, why make any helper guess )?
buy a9020MT cheap on ebay and end all this pain.,
older than Gen4 CPU PCs are now junk but if you want junk by all means buy it.
790 is ok, I have one, but is too old, for serious PC work of any kind .
no statement by you for USAGE,
as Conversation piece. (a dog house warmer?)
a test bed (like my 790)
just to read web mail?
to run slow old games, or even Solitaire.card game?
or AAA + gaming at $60 a pop, i bet not, given your facts.
PCs are like cars, they have an engine, what will you do with your PC, 10,000 answers possible or endless.
IT is a tool, what will you use yours to do?
Also, why fixate on very old 790s, why not shop for 9020MT, Gen4 CPU and all Haswell HAS A FUTURE.
and worse that old 790 will have a bad HDD, even bad PSU. all expensive to fix.

see this , click the heart. there.
shipping is shipping there is no such thing as free shipping it is added to sales price,
if you PC is not near you and state/province. shipping will not be cheap.
one more hint, buy PC with a CPU on board not naked sockets.
and with NO DOA, promise. for say 1 to 3 days open box.
There are some great sellers of PC on ebay some are huge.
mine will run the GTX1050, 75watt GPU with no changes to it all .
good luck to you and your bidding.

9020 or 7020 is recommended 3020 is not.
You will not however be getting any size of those for $80

The 3010 doesn't have USB 3.0. Models 7010, 7020, 9010, & 9020 do, including the 3020 that's not recommended by speedstep.
If you can't find the bulk you want on eBay, pcliquidations.com might also sell in bulk.

The article is still a worthwhile read.
