990DT accomodates low profile/LP gpu card only. If you can find a low profile GTX 970 which is difficult, then you also need to upgrade the 990DT psu to a 400-500W psu with 2x6 or 8 pin connector, which GTX 970 needs. The DT uses nonstandard sized slim psu. so psu upgrade is tricky unless you do not put case cover on. If you leave the case cover open, you may install some full height gpu in the 990 too.

Lastly the 990DT case can only accomodate short gpu, otherwise it would not fit. example of mini GTX 970: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 Mini ITX https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-Overclocked-GDDR5-GV-N970IXOC-4GD/dp/B00OQUMGM0
in summary, quite a few challenges to upgrade a business class desktop to a gaming pc. https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-h47f2g/images/stencil/1280x1280/products/7705/21139/1684474__11318.1520377154.jpg?c=2&imbypass=on
