HDD password prompt after Data Wipe
Hi, i am using Dell Wyse 5070. Today i decided to do a full disk wipe directly from BIOS. It said the changes will take effect after reboot.
After reboot it turned out after that it prompts me for HDD password during boot up.
I have never set one earlier and never was prompted to enter it over time. I did the disk wipe from BIOS for a first time ever now and this happened.
How can i get it unlocked ? I know it can be done with a password generated from Dell, anyone can advise ?

Try password. If it works, then use the same to disable HDD password in BIOS.

yup, all lower case and no quote. If it took, then get in BIOS to set HDD password. Enter "password" for old password and leave blank for new password.

Do not know why I missed that big word Wyse. A thin client has limited options, unlike an Optiplex.
BIOS wise, may have had Administrator password limiting what users can do. You can try to enable Reboot Bypass
Otherwise, locate a blue jumper on system board to reset/clear password.

Yeah, might be because of me posting this in Optiplex space because no other options and also quite desperate.
At least for me it was clear that I have no HDD password since all was working perfect. Also system and admin passwords disabled for the ease of use.
Also what is most important, disk wipe from BIOS was successful, which could not be the case if i had HDD password enabled. Now the disk is wiped and no filesystem on it, so even BIOS update is not possible. From every angle now the disk looks like bricked unless having master password generated by Dell, which looks also not possible as the support ended in Aug 22' for my device.
So looking here maybe someone sees my post and would reach to help.
Thank you so far.
