Help?!?! Optiplex 7470 HDMI Input not displaying laptop output

Hello, just purchased the OptiPlex 7470 very specifically to utilize the HDMI input and use the 7470 display for my laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 6th Gen).  No matter what I try, the laptop output won't display on the OptiPlex 7470 screen.  I have tried all of the following already:

1) Tested the HDMI cable itself:  Works fine, tested across multiple devices. Also, the ThinkPad recognizes and shows the Dell Optiplex 7470 as another display in the ThinkPad's Display Settings so I know the connection is working.

2) Yes I have triple-checked that I am inputting the HDMI cable into the HDMI IN port.

3) On the ThinkPad within Display Settings, I have toggled between (Duplicate, Extend and Second Screen Only) and none of them end up displaying the laptop output on the 7470.

4) I have checked that this machine has the most recent version of DellOSD installed. Many of the prior threads were on other OptiPlex models that had a physical "On Screen Display - OSD" button to toggle...apparently not so on the 7470.

Any help would be HUGELY APPRECIATED!!!  Thanks in advance!!

Thanks but unfortunately that was for a different model...that model had a physical button ("On Screen Display" or OSD) to toggle the input to get to the HDMI Input.  Unfortunately the OptiPlex 7470 I have does not have a physical button to toggle and the unit does not seem to automatically detect/display something plugged into the HDMI Input.  Any other suggestions out there?  Thanks so much!

7470 HDMI in is Optional not on all models. The OSD button should be on the unit if it has that option.

Dell is pretty paranoid. You will likely get no answer. And this forum is controlled by a guy called speedwank. You'll never get past him/.her.

The spinning  Dell Official speedstep icon can not be removed.

Live with it.
