Help With Model Number
Hello,
I have a Dell computer that I can not seem to find any information about. It will not boot the Operating System. The info on the computer itself doesn't return any results either for the Dell website or Online. The info that I have is:
Service Tag:
Express Service Code:
Model Number: DHP
Mfg. Date: 090204
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Does it look kinda like an Xbox 360 or similar, depending on the form factor?
If so, then you misread the Service Tag ("8" instead of "B"). Looking it up, it's an Optiplex GX270 with a Manufacturing Date of 090204 and a Ship Date of 090304, so it all matches up. Warranty was over in 2007.
This is a very old system, ancient even, sporting a Pentium 4 processor, and a 40GB HD all running Windows XP - it's so old that the Dell site doesn't even list your specific configuration.

Thank you, That is the one. I feel a little dumb ( ok a lot ) , I didn't realize that the model , GX270 is printed right around the power button.
I received this one to pull apart and tinker with.
From what I have been reading this baby has some issues with capacitors on the motherboard .

The recall for the capacitor issue ended in 2008.
