Looking to see what hardware upgrades I can provide to a friend.

He has a 2011 Dell OptiPlex 970 (Motherboard 0D28YY)

Currently running Intel i3 - 2120 Socket 1155 LGA 3.30Gzh (Sandy Bridge)

Memory - DD3 8gb DRAM 665.1Mzh looks like 4 gb sticks 2 slots

Intel OnBoard HD Graphics

Any helpful inputs, would be greatly appreciated.

Oh I have upgraded the bios to the current A22 Aug 2018 bios

Install Windows 10

experiencing some lagging when opening and switching between programs.

95W cpus do not work in USFF models.

however for what people are demanding for these cpus you could get an entire Windows 10 compatible Optiplex XE2 SFF system for the same amount of money with MUCH newer Much Faster processor and ram as well as fully supporting windows 10 20H2.
