KVM switch swich display
When I hookup my Dell optiplex running win xp 2000 pro and another xp pc on a 2 port KVM switch the display screen on the dell shows discoloration (a dark shade of grey and red) but normal on the other pc. I switch ports to check switch problems but same result. Weird screen colour on the Dell but normal on other desktop.

Do you have the display driver for your display loaded on the Dell system?
Dou you have the colour management settings set up correctly? (sRGB should be somewhere close but may not be optimal.)

Does your KVM switch have separate cables per port or a single Y-adapter that simply splits to the two systems? Might be a bad KVM cable. Usually when we switch ours and it turns a color (usually yellow or purple) it's indicative of a faulty cable. We use separate cables on a 16-input switcher. Do you get the "installing USB KVM switch" and the device driver noise when you hook them up?
