My Dell Optiplex 3010 Desktop has a Sound Input/Output Issue

Question

This issue is happening with the Dell Optiplex 3010 with Windows 7. I do not think that it is a driver issue since I already have the drivers and I do not think that it is an operating system issue since it occurs in whatever OS: Windows 10, Linux, etc. I do have a TV Tuner installed but I think that it is not the issue since this problem occurred before I installed the TV Tuner.

I am referring to the sound input jack and microphone input on the front of the case and the backside.

First. what Windows? Win 10? Win 8? Win 7? or Linux?

If its Windows, first you must use the Dell supplied Conexant sound driver, second the Speakers (Conexant) must be set as default.

As i have stated in the description, I am running Windows 7 and has already installed the drivers from the Dell website. This issue does not affect the HDMI port just the sound output jacks.

You still have not stated what the actual problem is. For example no speaker audio, no headphone audio or no microphone input, or distorted sound, etc.

In Win 7, make sure, as stated that the Conexant audio is set as default playback device.

Try this: Install win 10. (I think your win 7 key can be used to register it later.) It will probably install the proper drivers automatically.

I wouldn't trust outdated dell stuff. Dell drops old models like hot potatoes.

Also I would assume that other people would read the description and come to a conclusion that the audio is not working which people can say that there is an audio issue.
