OptiPlex 7070 SFF - Replacing the PSU

Okay folks - hope everyone is well.  I've got a new-to-me media PC available which is an Optiplex 7070 SFF with a 240w PSU - according to the gentleman who currently owns it.  I have a LP Yeston Radeon RX550 (http://www.yeston.net/product/details/234/272) that I'd like to be able to use in it.  I currently have an older Shuttle XPC with 300w PSU but it was locking up occasionally when I had the Radeon card in there.  Using onboard video - thing is solid.  I am thinking the PSU wasn't really enough to power things along.

So question for the Dell Power experts (in no order) - @DELL-Chris M , @speedstep , @redxps630 

I'd like to get a hold of one of the following PSUs for the Optiplex 7070 SFF using 6+4 pins and would like some confirmation/advice/thoughts:

RX550 from Yeston is single slot low profile.

Getting this model with low profile bracket is hard sometimes.

Full size bracket can be modified to work fine in low profile case with pliers and tin snips.

Legit Yeston cards are $200 or more.  Beware of "deals" for $59 to $99 range which may be fake.

Got mine from amazon.  Its based on the Lexa vs Baffin Video core. So its 50W vs 75W TDP.

Yeston is Legit and should not be lumped in with fake video cards.

Yep @speedstep - that's what I've got.  It had both full size and LP adapter.  Color quality is really nice.  Looking forward to putting it back into use once I get my hands on this 7070.  Cheers!

Welp - good news and bad news.  Good news first.  I didn't fry the my 'new-to-me' system after installing the 460w PSU.  Bad news - it doesn't fire up.  

The new PSU has white 6-pin labeled P1.  I assume this goes in the white 6-pin connector on the motherboard.

There's also the following connectors:

  • Two white 4-pin connectors labeled P2 and P4
  • Two black 6-pin connectors with one of them having an additional detachable 2-pin labeled P3 and P5.

I tried using the white 6-pin and the white 4-pins (one at a time of course).  The system wouldn't fire up.

As for the Yeston card, it fit perfectly using the LP adapter and so far is running fine on my 200w.

Six pin connectors will FRY the system.

GPU connectors are NOT Cpu connectors. Using incorrect power supply can FRY and DIE everything including destroying CPU, Ram, HDD, Motherboard, etc.

7070 DOES NOT use the same PSU as G5 7080 XPS 8940 so there is no 460W option.

@DELL-Chris M  would have information on what power supplies work and their part numbers.

I wasn't trying to use the PCIe black power connectors to the motherboard.
