Optiplex 3020 GPU upgrade

I'm having a GPU upgrade issue with the 3020 optiplex. I switched out the ram with vengeance DDR3 16g (2x8) @1600mhz with no problem. I replaced the power supply with a 380w power green Antec (I know this is low considered low but the gpu only draws max 177w and the cpu 84w. I installed windows 10 pro with no problems. Everything boots into home screen with no problem. I bought a cheap r9 270x Diamond GPU that was sitting on someone's shelve for 10 years, and decided to install. I have yet to get this thing to boot into windows even with A20 bios upgraded. The gpu fans do spin and im currently using a display port.

A 180w GPU should have at least a 500w PSU.  EVGA BR 500w PSU is a good one.

I take it you already have the 24-pin to 8-pin adapter needed to plug in the MB?

Yes, I have the adaptor for the motherboard. It seems to not post when the display port is plugged into the GPU.

A 380w PSU is not enough for a 180w GPU.  Adding GPU wattage + CPU wattage doesn't mean everything is accounted for.

If you compare PSU labels with the Antec and the Dell original PSU, chances are the Antec has less power on the 3.3v/5v rails than the OEM Dell.

Often an aftermarket PSU can boast more power, but skimp on the 3.3v/5v rails.

Having an adapter doesn't mean things will automatically work.

Try a better PSU as suggested.  You can always tell us if it still doesn't work.
